Drag & Drop
Drag and drop of WAV or DSS files and dictation documents is also possible between Windows Explorer/Desktop (including Active-Sync external devices) and the Dictation Manager. MS Outlook mail attachments can also be moved to and from the Dictation Manager. Use the normal mouse key (typically the left) to click and hold on a file and the move the mouse onto the Dictation Manager. Release the key when exactly over the appropriate dictation folder or the Dictation Overview - the mouse symbol will change from a no-entry to a plus sign when this is correct. The dictation is then moved, or imported if from a mobile voice recorder, to that destination. You can drop onto the Statistics bars (yellow is for unfinished), the Graphic bars (in Player), the Dictation Directory folder name or straight into the Dictation View below.
You can also move dictations from the Dictation View to MS Outlook, Windows Explorer, Desktop or other Windows applications, with some exceptions.
Please
note that Outlook Express and Citrix/Terminal Server
clients
do NOT currently support Drag and Drop operation
directly to the Dictation Manager.
If you move to the Desktop/Explorer then the dictation
is exported with a unique filename based on the originator's e-mail address,
cookie number and any Remarks. A pop-up dialog asks if you wish to delete the
original. If you keep the original then it is marked with the envelope
symbol to indicate that it has been forwarded
to an external destination.
Drag and drop operation available to and
from the progress indicator
Dictations (.wav or .dss) from Explorer, dictation
folders or the Import View can now be dragged and dropped directly into the
progress indicator at the top of the screen in order to load them.
Conversely, when a dictation is loaded, it can be dragged and dropped into a
different folder (to unload and move it) or onto the Windows desktop (to unload
and export it).
